Dhuandhar
About
Dhuandhar Falls are located in the Jabalpur district in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. This waterfall is created by the holy River Narmada, wherein people take bath to cleanse off their sins. The waters of the cascade create a milky fog during their descent from the famous marble rocks. While falling off the cliff, water gives out a misty or smoky effect, which gives the falls their name. In Hindi, Dhuan means smoke and Dhar means own; therefore, Dhuandhar falls become those waters that own the smoke. The height of the Dhuandhar falls is 30 meters. The waters of the cascade make roaring sounds that are audible to a suitable distance too!

Bhedaghat (Marble Rocka)
About
Soaring in glittering splendour, the Marble Rocks at Bhedaghat rise to a hundred feet on either side of the Narmada. The serene loveliness of the scene is one of cool quiet, the sunlight sparkling on the marble-white pinnacles and casting dappled shadows on the pellucid waters. These white rocks with views of black and dark green volcanic seams are truly majestic, and produce a magical effect on moonlit nights. The holy river flows by tranquilly flanked by the towering cliffs which reflect in it like a mirror the changing moods of nature. A little distance away, it becomes turbulent as it plunges in a mighty water fall known as Dhuandhar.

Chausat Yogini Temple
About
One
of the oldest heritage sites in India, Chausath Yogini Temple is
situated on a hilltop in Jabalpur. Built in the 11th century A.D., the
temple is the abode of Goddess Durga along with 64 yoginis or shaktis
considered to be the different forms of the Goddess. Though the temple
has been partially damaged, it speaks greatly of the ancient dynasties
that ruled in Jabalpur.
Around 150 steep steps lead to the shrine which is at a good
height. The complex of the temple consists of 64 shrines in circular
motion, one for each yoginis and a main shrine where Lord Shiva and his
consort Goddess Parvati are seen riding on Nandi, the sacred bull. The
temple was constructed during the reign of Kalchuri Dynasty and was
mainly made with local granite. Mughal invaders, later on, destroyed and
deformed most of the temple.
The design of the temple has been kept
simple but the idols of yoginis are exquisitely carved, each one
depicting a unique posture. The environment at the site is very calm and
composing with lush greenery around. Standing at the open-sky courtyard
you can witness a panoramic view of the River Narmada and the
surrounding landscape. Being the oldest Yogini temple in India, this
place is a must visit for all heritage lovers!

About
Bandhavgarh has been flourished through various significant historical legends most of which have been learnt from the legends of Ramayana. Interestingly, Bandhavgarh is a legendary place that has many historical importances. One can learn through the ancient books of the Narad Panch Ratra and the Shiv Purana that this place is being associated with Ramayana. The word Bandhavgarh is a combination of two words: Bandhav+ Garh where Bandhav means brother and Garh means Fort. So the meaning of Bandhavgarh is brother's fort. The name Bandhavgarh given to the reserve is due to the presence of an ancient fort in the hillock of the Vindhya ranges of Umaria. It has been believed that Lord Rama gifted this amazing fort to his younger brother Lakshmana. The Bandhavgarh fort is scripted with many convincing evidences of human activities and architectural techniques and interestingly, the legend explains that the ruined fort was being reconstructed by two monkeys who built a bridge between Lanka and the mainland.
