Echo
Point originally aired at 7:00pm weeknights (scheduled against Home And
Away and Sale of the Century) to low ratings and the series was
cancelled after a little over 100 episodes had been produced. The final
episodes were aired in a late night 11.30pm slot. The only purchaser of
the series in the UK was Central Television, the only member of the ITV
network to screen it. Central screened the series at 1315-1345 in the
summer of 1998 following the conclusion of A Country Practice. TV3 in
New Zealand picked up the series for just a few weeks in 1996 but then
later cancelled, the show featured former Shortland Street actor Martin
Henderson

known as Anayirangal, Elephant Lake or Elephant Arrival Lake is
frequenly visited by tourists coming into Munnar. It is an idyllic
picnic location featuring a dam and a reservoir. Located at a distance
of about 22 km from Munnar, Elephant Lake is nearby the Tata Tea
Plantations. Presenting a picturesque scenery surrounded by tea
plantations, evergreen forests, rolling grasslands and hillocks,
Elephant Lake portrays panoramic views of the calm waters against the
backdrop of dense tea estates and clouds. A common spot where you are
bound to see herds of wild elephants arrive here from the dense forests
of Munnar. However it is advisable that you maintain a safe distance
from these wild elephants as it is very dangerous to disturb them.

Elephant
Lake or Anayirangal is an idyllic picnic location which has a dam and a
reservoir. It is located close to the nearby Tata Tea Plantations. The
Elephant Lake was named so, due to the number of wild elephants that
came here from the dense forests to drink water. Tourists maintain a
safe distance from the elephants. It is surrounded by tea plantations,
evergreen forests, rolling grasslands and hillocks.

at a distance of about 2 kms from Munnar in Nallathanni Estate of Tata
Tea, Tata Tea Museum is very popular with the tourists visiting this
part of Kerala. Featuring several antiquities among which the burial urn
excavated from Periakanal Estate, dating back to 2nd century is the
main draw. Old photographs and antique machinery used in tea processing
are also on display at this museum. There is also a video presentation
screened here for guests which showcases a glimpse into the history and
culture of this region.

Munnar
is perhaps the choicest of places to preserve and showcase some of the
exquisite and interesting aspects on the genesis and growth of tea
plantations in Kerala's high ranges. With special emphasis to Munnar,
and to the delight of tea lovers and tourists, Tata Tea recently opened a
Tea Museum which houses curious, photographs and machineries, each
depicting a turning point that contributed to a flourishing tea
industry, as seen today in the region.
The museum set up at the Nallathanni
Estate of Tata Tea in Munnar is a fitting tribute to the toils and
rigours of its pioneers, who showed utmost determination and were
resolute in their efforts to transform Munnar into a major plantation
centre of Kerala.
CSI Christ Church

<p style="text-align: justify;">CSI Church at Munnar is a popular historic destination which was built in 1910 and is an important landmark. A Protestant Church built mostly in stone by Scottish tea estate managers and workers, the main attraction of this Church include its charming unique interiors which still retain stained-glass windows, brass plaques, rows of rosewood pews and an ornate chandelier. There also is a cemetery adjacent to this church with tombs dating back to 1894.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The old CSI Christ Church is the headquarters of the CSI Munnar Pastorate with over thousand Tamil families and 18 outstation churches. The church, counted amongst the most revered sites in Munnar, was built in AD 1910 by the British. This holy site is popular for its exquisite stained glass windows. Besides, it has engraved brass plaques that were made in the memory of the tea planters.&nbsp;</p> <div>&nbsp;</div> <p>The site of the church was formally consecrated by Rt. Rev. Noel Hodges on 15th April 1900 on the occasion of Easter. The church&rsquo;s foundation stone was laid in March 1910 by Sir A.K. Muir and inaugurated on 16th April 1911 by Rev. W.F.B Hoysted, the then priest. Spread over a 97 square kilometer highly protected area, the Eravikulam National Park is located along the Western Ghats in the Idukki District of Kerala. Mattupetty Dam, near Munnar in Idukki District, is a storage Concrete Gravity dam built in the mountains of Kerala, India to conserve water for hydroelectricity. It has been a vital source of power, yielding along with other such dams, huge revenue to the states. The large amount of perennially available water allows wild animals and birds to flourish. However salinity caused by irrigation and water-logging are of concern to environmentalists. Munnar is located near the confluence of the mountain streams of Muthirappuzha River, Chanduvarai River and Kundale River. The reservoir is also known to be one of the visiting grounds of elephants in the region.

Top Station was in the days goneby an important trade centre. Situated at an elevation of about 1700 m above sea level at a distance of 41 kms from Munnar town, on the Kodaikanal road. Top Station is a favourite spot for most tourists, as it provides a panoramic view of Munnar and the surrounding region. Munnar from here appears as a green carpet from Top Station. The Shola forests, rolling grasslands, valleys, water bodies and tea, coffee and spice estates viewed from here provide picturesque sceneries.

Cherished as the highest point in Munnar which is easily accessible to tourists, Top Station is also a natural habitat of the rare Nilakurinji plants (strobilanthus), which bloom only once in twelve years. These embracingly envelope the hill sides of Top Station in bright blue shades. The coming bloom of Nilakurinji plants is likely to happen in the year 2018. Bordering Idukki District of Kerala and Theni District of Tamil Nadu, Top Station is mostly shrouded with mist except when the sky is clear when even the Madurai District of Tamil Nadu can be viewed from here.
